Vegetables are grown on farms. Some vegetables are sent fresh to markets, some are sent to factories to be frozen and packaged before being sent to shops.

Some vegetables are eaten raw. Most vegetables are cooked.

Vegetables are important for good nutrition.

There are different parts of vegetable plants that we eat, such as:

the root (such as carrot)
the leaf (such as spinach)
the stem (such as celery)
the stem and leaf (such as Chinese cabbage)
the flower buds (such as broccoli)
the seeds (such as corn)
