Thai people generally wear western style clothing for everyday wear.
These school girls wear their school uniform,
but at weekends they wear clothing
similar to the clothes you would wear at weekends.
National costume
There isn't really a national costume, but a form of dress has been gradually accepted as a national costume. For women it is an ankle length wrap-around skirt, with a blouse worn over it. Often a length of fabric like a wrap is worn over one shoulder, held in place by a belt.
Men wear a shirt out over loose fitting long pants, sometimes with a sash belt at the waist.
In the northern part of Thailand there are many hilltribes living in traditional villages. Each tribe has distinctive traditional costumes.
