Rivers

Rivers splatter,

hitting rocks below.

But don’t be afraid,

there is poetry

deep inside each crevice.

A Cinquain to Pucketa Creek

Creek

Swishing, searching

Gulping my thrown stone

Leaving ripples caught in the flow;

Hungry slitherer.

River in Winter

The ice moves slowly

down the river,

the gulls

are circling
                                                  high,

grey and white,

grey and white,

against

the

grey blue sky.
