Paralympic Games

Paralympic Games stands for parallel Olympics. They are games for athletes with a disability.

These disabilities include:

athletes with physical disabilities
amputee athletes
athletes with spinal cord injuries
athletes with cerebral palsy
athletes with vision impairments

The Paralympic Games are held every four years in the same year as the Olympic Games.

Thousands of athletes from many countries compete in events such as:

• archery
• wheelchair basketball
• cycling
• swimming
• equestrian
• football
• track and field
• wheelchair fencing
• table tennis
• wheelchair tennis
