Where is Ethiopia?

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia is in Africa. It has borders with Eritrea, Sudan, Kenya, Somalia and Djibouti.

Head of State
There is no longer an Emperor ruling the country as there was in the past. However, the Imperial Family operate the Crown Council which does not govern, but sponsors activities in support of Ethiopian culture, and charity and relief programs. http://www.imperialethiopia.org/

The President (Head of State) is Mr Negasso Gidada and the Prime Minister (Leader of Parliament) is Mr Meles Zenawi.

Population:The capital city is Addis Ababa. Just over 3 million people live there. The total population of Ethiopia is estimated to be about 77 million.

Ethnic groups that make up the poplulation:
Oromo 40%, Amhara and Tigre 32%, Sidamo 9%, Shankella 6%, Somali 6%, Afar 4%, Gurage 2%, other 1%

Briefly: 80% of jobs are agricultural (which means working on farms, although only 10% of land is suitable for farming); 12% are government jobs and services; 8% are in industry and construction.
