Your Task
Imagine
it is 1862 and you have been asked to investigate and write a
report for the British Parliament about the Burke and Wills Expedition
and their deaths. Your report should state facts about the expedition
and conditions the men had to contend with. There should be recommendations
about how other explorers could avoid similar mistakes and not
meet the same fate.
Resources
Online:
Use these kidcyber pages bwinfo.htm , bwburkebio.htm,
bwwillsbio.htm as well as the links
from them to other sites

You can search for other Burke and Wills sites and use library resources.
The Process
First
of all, research several sources to find information about the
expedition. Go here to print a data chart
on which to make your notes. Use your notes to write your report.
Remember that the people who read the report have not been to
Australia and do not necessarily know very much about it. Use
illustrations, maps or diagrams to help make your report clear.
Presentation
Choices
The class
will be Members of the House of Commons to whom you will present
your report. Read the report aloud and explain your recommendations.
As the Investigator, you will be the expert and should be prepared
to answer any questions that the Members may ask.
Evaluation
Go here to print a self assessment
form which you will fill out and give to your teacher.
