Here's how to set out your book.
Page 1 of the book will be the list of contents, set out like this:
CONTENTS
What the animal looks like Page 3
Habitat Page 5
Food Page 6
Habits Page 7
Life Cycle Page 9
Why is this animal endangered? Page 10 Glossary Page 11

On page 2, draw a picture of the animal so that we can clearly see what it looks like.

On page 8, draw a picture of the animal's babies.
On page 9, write about how the young animals are born and grow.
On page 10, write about why this animal is endangered.
On page 11, make a glossary. Write the following words in alphabetical order and write a meaning for each one. endangered, vulnerable, extinct, habitat, life cycle, mammal, marsupial, reptile.
You can also add other words you have used in the book.
Where you have spaces on the pages, you can draw other illustrations.
Make a cover for your book, with a title and your name as the author and illustrator.
Step 6 Presentation
After you have written and illustrated your book, you are going to pretend to be this animal. Talk to the class, telling them about yourself and showing your book.
Step 7
Do you think you did this project well? Print off a 'How did I do?' page here, fill it in and discuss it with your teacher.
