Became Attorney General & Deputy Leader United Australia Party (UAP). 1939 He resigned because of party problems. After Lyons death he became Leader of UAP & Prime Minister. Re-formed composite government with Country Party, but resigned 1941 because of loss of support. |

Died in office 1945, just before the war ended. |
