Following Holt's disappearance, he resigned from Senate, was elected Leader of Liberal Party. Feb 1968 Won Holt's seat of Higgins . Won by small majority at 1969 elections 1971 Failed vote of no confidence (he cast the deciding vote), was replaced as Leader. Became Deputy Leader and minister in McMahon government, but resigned both soon after. |
