R is for Rhinoceros

There are 5 different kinds of rhinoceros.

Two kinds live in Africa. They are very big animals.

Three kinds live in Asia. One kind is very big and two kinds are smaller.

Rhinos have thick greyish skin. One small kind of rhino is hairy.

Some kinds of rhinoceros have 2 horns on their nose.
Some kinds have 1 horn on their nose.

Rhinoceros eat only plants.

Some eat only grass and some eat leaves from bushes.

A rhinoceros male (boy) is a bull, a female (girl) is a cow and a young one is a calf.

There are not many rhinos left in the wild. Hunters kill them to take their horns to use as an old kind of medicine.
