N is for Numbat

A numbat is the size of a cat.

Numbats live in forests in Western Australia.

They have reddish fur.

They have white stripes on their back.

They have a fluffy tail.

Numbats eat white ants called termites.

The termites stick to the numbat's long sticky tongue.

Numbats sleep in hollow logs at night.

Baby numbats stay in a nest.

When they are bigger they ride on their mother's back .

So many numbats have been killed by foxes that there are not many left.
