L is for Lion

Lions are big cats.

They live in Africa.

 A grown up male (boy) lion has long hair called a mane on his head.

 Lions live in a group called a pride.

In the pride there is one male lion who is the boss.

There are younger males and several females (girls) and cubs.

Young lions are called cubs.

Lions have big claws and teeth.

They eat meat.

Female lions do most of the hunting for food for the pride to eat.

They hunt together as a team.
