H is for Hippopotamus

A hippopotamus lives both on land and in the water.

They stay in the water for most of the hot daytime.

Sometimes they lie near the water to sleep in the sunshine if it is not too hot.

They come out of the water at night when it is cool to eat plants.

Its mother is a cow and its father is a bull.

It is a fierce animal.
