South Africa: Food

Food in South Africa includes spicy curries and meals of wild game (hunted animals such as gazelle and wild boar ), sweet potatoes, and pumpkin. English-style breakfasts and afternoon teas are served in hotels.
A traditional South African barbeque is called "braai" which means "grilled meat" and lamb, beef and seafood is often cooked on a barbeque. Spicy sausages called boerewors are barbequed too.



Bredie
(braised and stewed mutton and vegetables), crayfish and bobotie (a curried meat dish) are some of the dishes served in restaurants. There are many Chinese, French, Portuguese and Indian restaurants in South Africa.
