Your Task
You are a zoo designer. You have been asked to design a zoo that will only have African animals. The owner wants the animals to be kept in big open spaces that look like where they live in Africa.
1. Make a list of African animals you will have in the zoo.
2. You will draw a plan of the whole zoo.
3. You will plan in detail the homes for just 5 different kinds of animal from your list. To do this, you will need to find out lots of information about each of the 5 animals so you know what they will need such as tall trees, bushes, grasslands, waterholes for swimming, places for hiding and sleeping, and so on.

The Process
Write down some questions, for example: What is it like where it lives in Africa? What food does it eat? Where does it sleep? As you find information that answers each question, write it under the question. When you have enough, write the information in your own sentences.

Presentation Choices
Make a map or plan of your whole zoo. Make detailed drawings of where each of the 5 animals you have chosen will live. Make labels on your drawing. Prepare and give a talk to the class telling them about what each of the 5 animals needs to make its home as much like Africa as possible.

Evaluation - How did you do?
When you have finished, fill in an assessment form and share it with your teacher.
