Zagora
Zagora is a dusty oasis town in the Draa Valley. It is the start of the desert lands and leads to the Sahara Desert. Visitors, riding on camels, can take trips into the desert. Zagora is famous for its delicious dates.

 Tangiers
Tangiers is the gateway into Morocco for visitors from Europe. The city has many markets and an excellent crafts museum: Dar El Makhzen.

Fez
Fez is the oldest of Morocco's cities and the most complete medieval city of the Arab world. The old city, Fes-el-Bai, was declared a world heritage site in 1976. The Fez Market, has a huge array of stalls and shops and the architecture is old and interesting. The
Karaouiyne Mosque, founded in 859AD, is one of the oldest universities in the world.

Tamtachoute
The mountain village of Tamtachoute is the place for visitors to experience the lifestyle of the Berber peope. The Atlas Mountains are nearby and the area is a favourite place for rock climbers.

Chaouen (also called Chechaouen)
This town was built on the side of the Rif mountains in the late 15th century. The cobbled streets are steep and the houses are painted white or blue. The town is a holy city because there are many Marabouts or burial chambers for local saintly people.


This is the walled city of Marrakech, the second largest in Morocco. It was founded in 1062.
