The authors:
kidcyber
is written and maintained by an ex primary teacher, Shirley Sydenham, and an ex primary teacher-librarian, Ron Thomas. We are authors of numerous books for teachers and kids published in Australia and overseas.

How kidcyber pages are written.
When we are preparing to write a page for kidcyber we follow this research process:
We locate and review several sources of information on the web, and in recently published books.

From these sources we determine the accuracy of the facts that we will include in our writing.

Then the page is written by us in language to satisfy our target audience which is primary/elementary school aged students.

Pages are illustrated using our own photographs, photographs used with permission, and others purchased from online photographic libraries.

Accolades: some of the feedback we have received....

From Teachers and Teacher Librarians

My name is Kelly and I am a history teacher. My students are currently working on their history projects on a variety of topics. They have been doing a decent amount of research to find the best resources to use for their projects. It is hard to find reliable and informative resources these days on the Internet, so I was glad they came across your page. My students found your page
http://www.kidcyber.com.au/topics/televisonQ&A.htm to be very informative and resourceful for their projects. Thank you for making such a good reference!
I really appreciate the time you took in building your page, and I cannot thank you enough for inspiring my students.

Thank you so much for your wonderful site! I use it for class presentations to explain and introduce new topics to my students. The visuals are awesome and the uncomplicated wording makes the learning of different concepts less tedious and more interesting. I love it! Please keep up the good work and keep adding to the site.

Kind Regards—

Hello,
I just wanted to say that, as a science teacher, I have been using your page with information on the human anatomy ( http://www.kidcyber.com.au/topics/bodysystems.htm ) ...It's been helpful; thank you for making it!

Since your page was helpful to my classroom, I thought I would pass along another resource one of my students found: "Doctoral Information - The Online Virtual Human Body" - http://www.onlinephdprograms.com/resources/color.html

It's more in depth than some of your links. I thought your visitors might find it beneficial. (Plus, I would love to show my student that the page he found is incorporated on your website...makes him feel special, haha!) Hope I could help!

Happy Holidays,
Ms. Sarah Golding (Received 4/12/10)

I am an avid user of your website .... As there was an address for "feedback" I thought I would let you know that my kids really like your site and I find it useful and useable!

I have used your website often with my students - it is a wonderful resource.

I am a teacher librarian at a Sydney primary school and found the kidcyber site an invaluable teaching tool. The language was at the students' level and the graphics were excellent. The subject matter was very relevant and supportive of our NSW curriculum and there was a wonderful variety of information.

Well done on producing a very helpful site for primary students. It is clear to read, easy for students to locate information and just enough data to help some of the more "challenging" students to do some research by themselves! Like your many books, a great resource!

This is a really fabulous site. Congratulations to all concerned !

Thank you for providing such a fantastic site. We are really impressed with the KidcyberQuest on Indonesia and would like permission to link to your site from our school intranet for the students to access.

From Special Education teachers....

I'm using your site for an Olympic Unit for my special ed class. The text
and graphics are perfect. Can't wait to see your new themes. Keep up the
the great work.

We have been using the site since the start of the year and ahve found it
extremely useful as most of our students have reading and comprehension
difficulties.

From Students...
Thank you very much for all this information It is much more than I have
expected, most of the information that you gave me I didn't know before.
I will enjoy doing this project with all the material you have given to me
as well as material from other books and the Encyclopedia.

I have just found this site while trying to find some information on Australia for a school project.
This site is fantastic, it has all the information that I need that I can understand, some of the government sites I could not follow and was way too hard. Thankyou very much for this great site, I will be coming back here often. Also I am going to tell my teacher and my class mates about it.

THANKYOU so much for your wonderful help for my assignment. I used all the sites and gathered plenty of information. Hopefully, my assignment will go well.
I am in Yr 9. Although some of the info was quite easy, it gave us a good simple outline for our summary sheet. I discovered your site from my brother who is in Yr 3. He was doing a project on the Human Body and gathered some great facts from your site. I decided it would be good to just give it a try to get some extra information.
We are very pleased to tell you that we won our debate. Thankyou very much for your help - we could not have done it without you.
I am in the 9th grade in Vero Beach, Florida. Your information was very helpful. Just want you to know that I got an "A" on my project about Koalas.
Thank you again,

From Parents....
I have just finished reading an article "Secrets of A+ Parents" [Readers' Digest Feb 2003] and noted your website. We have a 4 yr old daughter who is full of questions and is always wanting to look up books to see pictures and get info on various topics. Her favourites at the moment are volcanos and the ocean.I was delighted to find your site with great pictures and info to show her.
We have put this in favourites as I'm sure it will be well used especially next year when she starts school. It is a great website and we just wanted to say thankyou for providing such a great learning tool.Keep up the good work it is really appreciated.

I use this site weekly for my daughter who is in Y2 for her projects every week. I think this sight is fantastic as my daughter loves the big print and pictures.

This is Jackson's dad. I decided to check my email before shutting down the computer for the night and was very impressed to see that you had replied to his email so promptly. I am sure that he will be get a real kick out of getting his very first email. Thank you for putting a smile on my son's face (well in the morning anyway) and good luck.
