About 45 million people live in South Africa and they speak 11 different languages including Afrikaans, English, Ndebele, Pedi, Sotho, Swazi,Tsonga,Tswana, Venda, Xhosa and Zulu.

Most South Africans have black skin but there are white skinned South Africans too.

Food in South Africa includes spicy curries and meals of wild game, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin. English-style breakfasts and afternoon teas are served in hotels. A traditional South African barbecue is called "braai," which means "grilled meat," but fish is barbequed too.
