Music in The Netherlands

Like most places around the world, the Dutch today enjoy a wide range of music. There are Dutch bands and pop stars and orchestras just as there are in other places.

There is centuries old traditional music also. Go to the website below and click on the links to hear different kinds of traditional music, such as folk dances and street organs.

The Dutch national anthem, Het Wilhelmus, can also be heard. Click on the picture of the Dutch Queen.

In the list of links under the pictures, click on 'Street Organs' and click on the British flag at the top to get the page written in English. Listen to the music and read about streeet organs.

Also in that list, click on 'Dutch Folk songs'.

Click on the last one, De kinderhoek, to hear some Dutch children's songs. In the list of songs, click on the ones with some musical notes next to them. The words are in Dutch.
