The Netherlands: Dutch Artists

Right from the time The Netherlands became an independent country, there have been many famous Dutch artists.

Among the most famous of all are Rembrandt, Vermeer and Van Gogh. They are noted as being among the world's best painters ever.

Among more modern Dutch artists famous in the 20th century are W.Escher, William de Kooning and Pieter Mondrian.
