V is for Vervet Monkey

Vervet monkeys live in Africa.

They stay near trees.

Their fur is silver with green on the back.

They have a black face, hands and feet.

They have long tails.

They live in big groups.

They make a lot of different sounds.

Vervets eat what they find in trees, like leaves and buds and fruit.

They eat lizards and bugs too.

A mother vervet monkey carries her baby wherever she goes.

Baby vervet monkeys hang on to their mother's fur.
